I've been in the business of assisting Tax Payers for approximately twenty years. Prior to becoming an Enrolled Agent I was a successful Real Estate Agent. My career change has offered me exactly what I needed - An opportunity to help individual and small business with tax issues. I owned a very large firm in Peachtree City for 15 years and tried to retire. This did not work out and I'm still going- I keep informed on all tax law changes and have been fortunate to be able to resolve IRS problems as well as prepare returns. My office is full-service year around. I love my work!!!
q & a
What characteristics do your favorite clients share?
My clients are from many different backgrounds, have various characteristics, However, the Characteristics I find in my clients is they share the same goal when they hire me and that is to work honestly toward a settlement with the government if they owe taxes. When they file returns they want to make sure all is ethical and they will not be audited. I do take clients who are out to beat the government
Why should a client hire you?
I give my clients personal attention. I'm always available to discuss their needs and help them resolve their issues. I'm fair with my fees and will work with the client based on their situations.
Describe a time where you went beyond expectations when working with a client.
I represented a client in a Federal Tax Audit in 2008. We had an IRS Agent who assessed a Civil Fraud Penalty which I deemed to be unfair. I took the case to Appeals. Could not get resolved. Only option left was taking the case to Congress. I flew to Washington DC - met with my congressman. The case was approved and the penalty removed with several months
What single project or task would you consider your most significant accomplishment in your career to date?
The most significant accomplish was the Federal Audit that I resolved in 2008 with the assistance of my congressman . However, the next experience would be an Offer in Compromise that I submitted to IRS whereby the taxpayers owed approximately $110,000 in back taxes. They were unable to pay and were about to close the business. I worked through Appeals on this case and the IRS accepted $11,000 Settlement. The Taxpayers are still in business and so grateful for this "Fresh Start" This happened last year (2013)
