Hi, I am Irene. I am a CPA who works in both California and Nevada.

I love helping clients solve problems and being proactive rather than reactive. I do not charge clients for phone calls because I want them to call me before they act. It is much easier structuring transactions before hand to get the desired results instead of trying to fix things after the fact and not obtaining the desired results.
q & a
What characteristics do your favorite clients share?
They are friends as well as clients. Many have been clients for many years. Since they have seen what I have done for them in the past, they trust my judgment for the future and I service more than one generation in some families. I solve problems they did not know they had and answer questions that they had not yet asked.
Why should a client hire you?
Because I have clients who have been with me for twenty to thirty years and will give me a reference. Because I have a box of tissues on the desk and laugh and cry with clients.
Describe a time where you went beyond expectations when working with a client.
More than once I was able to help clients structure transactions so that they could sell properties at a loss, generate a net operating loss, and by timing it properly, carry the loss back to a year with high income and income taxes and get a large income tax refund. I have also structured 1031 exchanges to defer taxes and changed personal residences into rental properties to generate deductible losses.
What single project or task would you consider your most significant accomplishment in your career to date?
The fact that I have been in business for thirty years and had the opportunity to help many clients. In addition, I was able to mentor staff and enable them to become CPA's. It also allowed me to give back to the community as I did pro bono accounting work for non profits and sat on several boards. I am currently on the CalCPA state Estate Planning Committee as well as sitting on some Los Angeles area charity boards.

We are not a stuffy CPA firm. We are a boutique CPA firm concentrating on tax, small businesses, estate planning, and international and expatriate tax issues. We have clients in foreign countries so we do tax filings for Americans living abroad as well as for Americans with investments abroad. We are familiar with FATCA and FIN SEC filing requirements. We prepare financial statements and participate in the AICPA peer review program. We had our last review in 2013 and will have our next review in 2016.
